ATRA Welcomes New Member Velodromes

The American Track Racing Association is proud to announce three new member velodromes for the 2012 season and now has a record number of 19 velodromes who are members of ATRA for 2012. Our newest member velodromes include the newly completed and soon to be opened Giordana Velodrome in Rock Hill South Carolina, a multi-purpose track in Wall New Jersey which will be put to use as a velodrome by the Garden State Velodrome Association, and the soon to be constructed DC Velodrome in the heart of the nations capitol, Washington DC. With the completed construction of the Chicago Velo Campus track in Chicago last year, the addition of these new velodromes demonstrates the growth and resurgence that track racing is currently undergoing. ATRA is pleased to welcome these new tracks to it's association and is looking forward to a fantastic 2012 track racing season.

Cost: $10.00 per night for Track bikes or Gear Bikes

Where: Carrier Park, Amboy Rd, Asheville, NC, Exit 1C off I-240
Course: 500 Meter paved 6% sloped track
Time: Registration opens at 5PM and closes 15 minutes prior to race

Hellyer Park Velodromes New Website

With a recently unveiled new velodrome logo and what looks to be a lot of work by the Northern California Velodrome Association team, the folks managing the Hellyer County Park Velodrome's brand new website. Per the site:

Welcome to the website of the Hellyer County Park Velodrome, Northern California’s only dedicated bicycle racing facility. The velodrome, operated within Santa Clara’s Hellyer County Park, has offered bike racing opportunities for beginner through world-class racers since 1963.
